And as soon as I woke up this morning I cancelled the order on my Browning Buckmark. My God that is one fine handgun. One of the best triggers I've ever shot.

Needless to say while much more pricy, I'll be ordering in one of these instead.

Nickorette,
I feel the same as you. I really like mine. Funny thing, I have tried all sorts of different ammo, from Lapua to cheap Wallyworld bulk.
In the end, mine loves plain CCI standard velocity the best.
Have fun.

I`ve shot a Hammerli model 207 for 40 years, never had to do any repairs, still shoots fantastic. If the new Hammerlis are like the old you`ll shoot it for a lifetime.
Enjoy and shoot straight shoot often

I had one and sold it because I had accumulated too many .22's. I really regret selling it. A year or two ago I think they were in the $600-$700 nib range. I liked how the German part of the instruction manual calls it "Das Plinken Pistolen" or something like that. Not so sure about the moody looking Euro-trash models on the manual's cover though.

SPI: I think you may be confusing it with another make. Mine didn't have a polymer frame. Polymer grip panels, yes. And a plastic, of little use, "barrel weight" yes. But the frame was metal. (Can't recall now if alloy or steel).

There not imported any more as far as I no ! Not sure what there going for on the used market! My xesse sport I think was $999.00 new 3-4yrs ago. You ocassionally see an xesse advetised in the ee.

I'll have to call around, but it was my understanding that it was TSE that stopped importing them, because SAN sold off Hammerli to Walther, and TSe doesn't carry walther.

I've come across a few places with Hammerli price lists, so I'll just have to give them a phone call and see if they can get one from a supplier.

Oh, and they list it for $800-900. I'll find out tomorrow and post the details here.

Sweet little pistols.

The polymer frame is a turn off, but they hold well and they shoot great.

Yeah, you must be thinking of something else. The barrel is machined into the entire top slide. The only thing plastic about this gun is the mags.

I heard these things never jam, so I guess the plastic mags work.

I guess I am mistaken. I was pretty sure that the grip frame of the Xesse was polymer with the word "Xesse" injection molded into it. The sub-frame and slide being aluminum.

You might be right. I didn't get to look over it too well, it's possible the grip frame is polymer.

I found a high res photo of it. It's hard to tell if there is a metal layer under the polymer grips or not. I dunno.

*Edit* I found my answer. Apparantly the barrel and frame are once piece. Since we know for sure the barrel is metal, than I'd say the only plastic is the grips and the mags.

You are mistaken, I just sold the last one I had, they are alloy, the only thing
I did not like was a little on the light side, trying to get a steel weight from
a 207-215 from the US for my buyer, but the dealer in the states can't ship up here. I shot one for couple of years and never had one stoppage, used
lots of Fed baulk pack, almost as good as fed gold match. The one I just
sold had the target grip- rael nice. the price 3-5 years ago was about $750.oo and couple of time I saw them on sale in the 650.oo Retail area.
BTW, of the bench it would shoot as good as my Hi-standard's
victors and supermatic and better than the one browning I tried.

Well, I got in contact with the importer. They have an order of X esses coming in, they are just at customs right now. The lady wasn't sure exactly what X esse models were coming in, but she'd call me when she got the details.

I did hear that they are discontinued in the States, but they are still up on the Walther website, and this importer is getting them in, so I'd say they're still going strong in Europe.
