The damm closet is FULLl. Just went to another show on saturday. Not much in Enfields, BUT THERE WAS THIS Swiss Vetterli, with a schuetzen buttplate and double set triggers...... Not enough cash, so I gave him a deposit and will have to travel about 40 miles to the small town he lives in to pay the rest and pick up the rifle.
Add to that, I will have to crank up the lathe and convert it to centrefire.

Already have the later model so no probs with brass and dies.;)

At least you folks down South have HUGE gunshows.
Most of the ones I have been to up here in kanuckistan have been quite sad.

Same crap all the time, and always overpriced.

Especially on the Island. We're a touch isolated from outsiders here, moreso than the lower mainland.

In other news, I can't wait to get the f*ck off this island!

I hate to break it to you, but other places are not much better. :(

If you want my pretty face to stay on the island, I'd ask you to find me a job paying $25 an hour starting, with a Bachelor of Commerce, please.

Not that crazy if you live in "The Next Business Capital of Canada", aka Calgary.

Bit of a stretch if you live in a city that's almost all tourism and gov't work.

Good grief John, expand the closet, or give up a bedroom!

Love those Vettes - we gotta have pics once you have it home. Sounds like you got a nice one.

Any shows on down there say mid June (when I hit a conference in Scottsdale)?

what to you MEAN, SELL AN ENFIELD???????
Gunshows in Phoenix
Roadrunner at shrine temple on 2-3 June Usually a small one, but one never knows.
Ter-Mark, Mesa, 9-10 June, always a large show.

That's about it for June.

Oh, by the way we also have people selling ovwerpriced crap. The Vetterli was the first reasonably priced rifle I saw for what it is.
Lots of folks selling beef jerky, dolls, dishes, flashlignts, knives, etc.
Then we have the Glock factory outlet, and the AR-15 accessory tables. After seeing all the crap they hang on an AR-15, I often wonder if there is a rifle underneath the flashlights, lasers, scopes, and other what-nots. And lets not forget the folks with the nazi T-shirts and other rude things stenciled on them.

The only way I can send pics is to photograph them with the 35mm and mail them so someone else can post them.

Are you serious. I am itching to get away from this stinking winter. But the gun show in Edmonchuck was pretty good this year though. Hey Ft McMoney has plenty of work. Or are you just talking about leaving the Island on holiday?

let's see, i went to the 'big' show last year and there were quite a bit of model kits, books, belts, pouches, etc; firearm-wise, it was just as pity as the small ones in burnaby.

Vancouver Island

Lifes not so bad here on the Island. Yesterday I picked up a 1937 S/42 K98 at the Duncan show the first 2 minutes I was there and upon leaving a fellow mentioned he'd just put an Oberndorf made Swede M96 on consignment at our local shop so I snagged that baby on the way home. Not to shabby for one day. Have to admit though, it does rain alot here, better than snow though.

John, I was just at the show in Phoenix on Saturday and it was HUGE.. I am sure you were there as well, but for a Canuck to see it was amazing. More weapons there than in the entire Cdn Forces! You know you're in for an experience when walking in and you pass guys coming out with crates of ammo on 2wheel carts. Just about anything there a guy could want and way more stuff than you need. Pricing varied a lot from the reasonable to beyond ridiculous but I didnt see anything there that would be considered a major bargain. But talk about ammo and lots of it. Wow! Again pricing took a wide swing but there was some great deals on ammo..
Quite the experience!
Cheers

Kamloops has their 27th annual gun and knife show this April 21st, 22nd at McArthur Island Sports Centre this year, not the KXA as in past years. I can't wait :)

I am talking about moving permanently. I am taking a business education right now and will have my bachelor commerce next year. Trades are out of the question. I don't feel like physical labour for the rest of my life.

No chance for young guys such as myself to get their hands on a non R/C 98k anytime soon because of guys like you. :(
