I have a dream...A Norinco AR-10...

we need the old ar10, not the ar15 variant. Also, the upper and lower are the easy parts. it is the rest we really would need to make a go of it.

Thirty years ago I had one of the originals, presumably a Sudanese model because the markings were in Arabic. All I can remember now is FTEs about every tenth round. Weak extractor. When it did work, it deposited all the cases in a neat pile over my right shoulder.

I had it for only a short time and had no experience with other military rifles to compare it with. Liked it; didn't trust it.

I have a dream too, go get a job, and buy a normal ar10... like whats up with these treads?

Already have a job, but thanks for the tip. It seems to me if other people can wish for cheap 50 cal rifles and revolvers by Norinco, I can dream a little too.

In any case, I see on one well-known importer's site that DPMS .308 AR-style rifles can be had for $1200-1500, so maybe that is more doable than wishing for a Norc.

The whole thing about Norinco is that if allows me and others to have guns we might otherwise simply not bother with. If my only choice for an AR-15 was something costing in the neighbourhood of $1000, I'd find another place to spend my money. For $600, I can splurge a bit on a gun to satisfy a casual curiosity and interest....all thanks to CanadaAmmo and Norinco.

A reproduction original ar-10 would be non-restricted wouldn't it?
this is turning into a wet dream!

It coul be argued as such since the original non variant is non restricted.

Didn't these have a fixed carry handle that could not be removed though? Would make it a deal breaker for me if it did.

Someone said AR and non restricted in the same sentence .. Tisk Tisk ....
Suggest you focus on a 180b clone .

Sure if you want a fugly half baked turd.

instead of everyone criticizing people why dont we try and find some workable blueprints get them into the hands of canammo and hope for the best whats the worst that could happen there isnt one now so as i see it the worse is there still will not be one.

Good call on the Ar10, but the restricted classification sucks! I would like to hunt with a semi 308 other than a Norinco m305(heavy). It stands alone as the only affordable, semi auto 308 in this country that I know of.I Know Im dreaming but I still think an FAL type clone with different reciever would sell tonnes here if the price was reasonable.

the original AR10 is non restricted. the newer ones from armalite, dpms, knights are all restricted.

folloing is retricted

i have new upper/lower if you ever get your hands on an original to try out. i am assuming that they may pin together but not work. the AR10B has a slight angle to the mag, the AR10A is more straight but still doesnt seem right

Pretty well this. Just save and get something great, or, keep buying sub-par guns forever.

Cost Vs. Worth - A concept that most people with a job would understand. Although your comment is quite ignorant, I accept it for what it is. I now ask, what is a "normal Ar-10" exactly ? Do you only feel that an original Armalite Ar10 from the 50's designed by Stoner is a "normal Ar10" ? I hope you understand that every Ar10 on the market today is simply a replica right ? much like what Norinco would offer …. except half the price.

Cost Vs. Worth ..
