Lead is a precious metal now.

Yup, prices going up all over. Some members of our club just placed an order a few weeks back at the "old prices" before the increase hit.

15 pounds of lead per case. So a rise of 35 cents per pound equates to about $5 per case increase in lead costs.

Want to see scarey? Here is copper:

Here is the one year lead, even scarier:

mc T, you better run out and buy a bunch of that Rem ammo, esp if you shoot alot. That same load here at Wholesale that was 45.00 last year is now 55.00.
Win AA is 69.00 a flat

Wait tell you get a load of what the new pricing is on premium non-tox
like Kent Matrix !

Lead by the bag for reloading has been climbing too ... about 50 percent
over the last year.

Just picked 2 flats Rem game load from BPS. Good deal really.
Did the same when i heard. BPS 42+tax. Still a super deal.
Someone told me for the extra $8 that Win Super Target are a better buy for semis because they cycle more reliably. No matter for me cause I use a pump.:)

There's no need to speculate - it's happening for sure. Our Kent rep saw the writing on the wall over 6 months ago and warned everybody on this site who read his posts.

The best deal for super target is le baron. 49.XX + tax but you will save another 7% if you are a member.

Thanks for the info. Don't think i buy enough there.........yet . But i'll keep it in mind. I was there last week and BPS had much better selection and somewhat better prices. Mind you it's like the walmart whore of the outdoor sporting world and Lebarons is much closer.

Not sure if anyone here remembers the 70's but shotshell's were more expensive then than they are now. You can't say that about many other thing's.

Even lead shot for reloading has taken a significant jump ... around here it's rougly 50 percent more than it was last fall. Thre price of lead as a raw manufacturing material is now about $ 25 for 11kg ... that's before it's alloyed and processed/packaged as shot for reloading.

Two years ago I was buying lead shot for $18 a bag, it's now well over $30.
