I have a new M70 in 308. what scope to put on it?
I have a leupold VX-I (2.7x7x33)
or a bushnell 3200 elite (4-10x40)
or should i buy something new?

I'm stuck between the two because I like the "click" adjustments of the bushnell but I like to sleek look of the leupold...

ultimately, function and reliability may be the most important factor.

any suggestions?

If it's a new Model 70 it is a short action and the 2-7X will "fit" better...once it's sighted in you won't be using the adjustments anyway...so lack of clicks shouldn't be a problem...if you need clicks, get a new 2.5-8 Leupold;)

welcome to the club!! here is my new M70 in .270 topped with an Elite 4200 and I love it.....sorry the picture is not the best....:welcome:

That picture should be sufficient to turn just about anybody off a Bushnell.

Get the 2-7 or 2.5-8 Leupold and mount it in DD lows.

It might turn a few onto Winchester though, nice wood on that one!

The new M70 are amazing.. They are a great price too. I bought a model 700 off of the EE and before the model 70... the model 700 will be back up on the EE pretty soon!

How about a Zeiss Conquest?

they're only $100 more than a VX-II and at the top end of what i would want to pay..

For $500 for the 3-9x40, they are an excellent scope, they are just a little big and bulky for your rifle.

I put the VXI on my M70 Fwt. & M88, they both look sleek and low profile. They just seem to made for these rifle platforms. I looked at the Zeiss $500 scope and really liked the clear & bright glass, a very affordable scope IMO (I am considering one of these for a future TC Icon....they're finally dropping in price:rolleyes:)
I would've suggested a Nikon but after I experienced their "Limited Lifetime Warranty" I realized just how "Limited" it was, No more Nikon for me
Both the Leupold & Bushnell have great Warranty's with Leupold having the better customer service.
With the scopes you all ready have, I'd go with the 2-7 Leupold.
Try Optics Planet website or Natchez websites, you can get some good savings there.
Good Luck

A leupold 6 X 42 is all the scope you will ever need for that rifle. Simple, inexpensive, fantastic light transmission, reliable, few moving parts.

Would you dare to listen?
