I have a new M70 in 308 what scope to put on it?

You have the option of easily swapping from a low power scope to a high power scope with QDs, and if it was my rifle, it would have a ghost ring and post installed.

Interesting,

But you do live in a different neighbourhood than I. I assume you have different needs! :)

Do you have any pics of rifle that you have a ghost ring / QD scope set up?

Always, always go with a Zeiss, go look through a few, they sell themselves.

But in all seriousness , I think you better get a Zeiss.

just finished putting a zeiss on my new A Bolt i got as a gift the gun not the scope...i love them and its what all my rifles wear.

Its an old picture taken shortly after I got this thing put together, the rifle now wears a 2X EER Leupold. Anyway, Talley QD rings mounted to a custom quarter rib, with a Talley ghost ring and a custom brass post front sight on an unfluted Ruger barrel band base. this was before NECG made their excellent peep sight which attaches to the Brno/CZ receiver. I have one of those on my ZG-47.

I suspect Jeff Cooper would have objected to his name or Gunsite being associated with the new Ruger scout, although I recall him stating that if you couldn't afford to build a scout rifle correctly, a Ruger 77 carbine with a conventional 4X scope would suffice nicely.

If I was going to build a .308 scout I would begin with a Brno 601 action and attempt to replicate the rifle that is pictured in Art of the Rifle.
