Hi,
I have a new Ruger SR9 and I was wondering if anyone has used this ammo and if they have had any problems or issues at all?

CCI Blazer Aluminum Cass 9mm 115gr

Thanks for your comments.

It jams in one of my 9's occasionally (roughly one 1:50) but it shoots just fine in my other two nines. I've seen lots of other folks that used bucket loads of the stuff and it works just fine. So go ahead and buy a case of 1000. The worst you'll have to deal with is the occasional jam that gives you some practice in clearing.

I've put well over two thousand rounds of it through my Glock 17. No problems whatsoever. If you don't plan on reloading, go ahead. I also use Blazer Aluminum .357 Magnum and .38 Special in my revolver. Same, no problems.

I bought a case of 1000 rounds, went threw half the case in 2 days at the range, not one issue with my Glock 17 :)

Good ammo in my opinion, buy a case and try it out

With any new ammo you try, the best bet is to buy a box or two, 50/100 rounds, and try it out. The SR9 benefits from a bit of polishing of the feed ramp and the chamber opening...don't change the shape, just polish, then light lube. My SR9 likes Am Eagle 124 grain...

I've ran a few hundred rounds of it in my M+P 40. Not a single issue other than it's non reloadable. A touch dirty perhaps, but not awful.

Used 200+ rounds of the Aluminum cased 115 gr Blazer in my SR9 with not one single issue. Still have lots of it and will buy it again for sure.

i put a couple hundred rounds of 124gr blazers through my cz 75z and found it quite dirty. Also, once in awhile little bits of powder would hit me in the face... i figure for the extra dollar per box i will buy federal ae or something else like that.

I buy it all the time now for my Gen3 Glock 17, I dont reload so at $220/1000 rounds it works out to $11/box plus tax. Ive never had an issue with it at all aside from, like others have said, being a little dirty. But my G17 shoots well with everything, dirty or clean. I find most brass cased FMJ 9mm ammo in my area to be between $14-16/box so I think it is definitely worth it.

I have a first generation SR9 and its easily eaten 1000 aluminum Blazer rounds without a single failure. Also steel cased MFS and every other kind of ammo you can think of. Its only ever failed to fire twice - with white boxed Winchester rounds (from the same box of 50).

Shot 1000's in my G17 gen4 with 0 problem, bought another 2000's and just shot a couple 100's so far and still no problem.

124gr.

Cleaner than Federal American Eagle... a lot!
