I have a proposition

im far from a seasoned reloader, but i think some people are getting a little starry-eyed and dont realize just how much work this would be. some people spend days/weeks diagnosing accuracy issues and working up a load -- for one of their own rifles. but 50 misc. rifles in two weeks? thats asking someone to work >160 hours for free.

even if you had a range and reloading setup right in your backyard its still a tremendously daunting amount of work. you could have your own space shuttle for all it matters, noones going to have any time to do anything but work.

I would bet that most people who would go to that extreme actually find a very workable, very accurate load very quickly...and then obsess about getting that last .001MOA, turning the task into a mission, and then a quest. Nothing wrong with that...if you love reloading, that would be fun.

But just to produce a very good load for most rifles is not that daunting a task. Depending on Douglas' requirements, this sounds like a very doable exercise. I'll bet that they will finish 90% of the rifles in 50% of the available time, and then spend the remaining week addressing the few problem-child guns that are probably going to be in the mix.

A successful week in a remote hunt camp or campsite is a lot of work also...I doubt many of us begrudge that effort. I see this as a comfortable, deluxe-accommodation version of that.

With a 3 man reloading/shooting team, a box full of manuals topped of by Ken Water's pet loads I think it could be a productive 2 weeks. There's no need to reinvent the wheel especially in short of a span. Id love to get in afternoon of shooting right now...2 weeks would be awesome ! maybe one day.

This would make an interesting reality TV show..... The process of load development for the 2 wk period for all the different rifles.

too bad that you have let the cat out of the bag! it may change everything, now! I got inside info from Douglas, it is a TV show, in fact a whole series of shows on reloading and shooting and fishing and strangers living together and becoming life long friends! Now there is gonna be 20-30 guys that just want to be on TV that will want to go, instead of a careful select of only the elite few that apply! ;)

For the record

THERE WILL BE NO REALITY SHOW OF THIS EVENT............GOT IT!!!!!!!!

Besides who would watch it, just us twisted individuals who play with guns and in reality that ain't very many in Canada. Also watching reloading and target shooting is rather boring if you're not the one doing it. Sorry guys don't think the ratings would make for a very long run MAYBE one episode.

If it ain't got naked girls or gobs of violence it won't sell........REALITY.

Let's just keep this our little secret and we'll post lots of pics and reports after the fun.

Who knows maybe we can make it an annual event.
