I don't spend much time in the rimfire forum but here's my question. I've got a Simmons 22 mag rim fire scope I'd like to give away to someone who is maybe just getting into shooting and can't afford much right now. Point me in the direction of a new or deserving rimfire shooter here on gunutz and I will toss it in the mail on Monday. I've never used it myself, it came as a package deal on a rifle 15 years ago and it's been sitting on my shelf ever since.
 
So a funny thing happened when I went to find an old scope box(I'm a hoarder, I keep everything) to send the scope in. I picked up a box that felt a little heavier than the rest and lo and behold there was another scope in it that I didn't even remember that I had! It's another Simmons. I think it must have come off of a savage package rifle I bought a few years back. So this means draw #2 will happen later tonight. It's a 3-9x40 Blazer. Everyone that PMed me earlier will go in the draw along with anyone else that PMs me in the next couple of hours. As with the previous scope I gave away, shipping will be paid by me. All I ask is that we leave this open to new shooters who maybe can't afford a scope at this time.

Draw is done. PM's are sent. Scopes will be mailed out on Monday.

The shooting/hunting community has been good to me. This is my little way of paying it back. Lets keep the Canadian tradition alive.

What a great idea. I also bought a combo outfit and will replace the scope in the not too distant future. I think I will do the same. It would be a great act to follow!! Way to go!
 
Damn I love this site. What a wonderful idea. I am looking at scoping a Marlin 39a with a Nikon but have a scope that I am not going to use. Have to see what it is. Any idea how to tell if a scope is ok for rimfire or not?
 
Most rimfire scopes have a 75 yard parallax versus 150 for scopes designed for centerfire.
Adjustable Objective scopes remove most of that inconsistency. I had a Leupold reset by KORTH for 75 yards.
Since then I saw a YouTube instruction on doing the adjustment yourself.
Since we are talking Marlin model 39's, any 3-9 power will work fine.
