I have a Winchester 76

I am going to have to take a closer look at some of the old rifles in the local RCMP museum and the other local museum. The other museum has stacks of old lever guns including a Yellowboy used in the Reil Rebellion and later in the Wild West show.
 
I found a photo of the RCMP saddle and scabbard they would have used for that RCMP Carbine. The photo was taken at the Prince Albert Corrections and RCMP museum. It is worth the trip just for the giant wall of shanks confiscated at the PA Pen over the last 100 years. It also has some cool guns including a very early 1928 Tommy Gun pre Kutts compensator.

Well I took this gun Epp's and when they put thier eyes back in thier head the price of the gun was amazing. I will keep this gun as part of my retirement package.

I picked up Bills 76 this summer

The rear military sight was just glued on so I took it off and put on the proper carbine sight.
also picked up original Winchester ammo in 40-60 and the original Winchester reloading tools to complete the package.Found out original ammo is very expensive.
Found out the following 1876 carbine stats
They only made 287 carbines in 40-60, 6814 in 45-75 and 25% of the 6814 were NWMP carbines, 24 in 50-95, and 2497 in 45-60. That make this gun 1 out of 286 for the model 1876.

Very nice acquisition indeed! The original cartridges and reloading tool and mould are excellent accessories to the carbine. I have to admit I'm envious.

I can console myself that at least is Meanea who got it, being the commensurate Winchester collector that he is.
