....and will give 10mm auto a try :p I have heard some blasphemers compare it to .357mag and being a man of quality H:S: I am willing to give it a try. (Also saw some cool videos about it and might have changed my mind a little about it)

OK. So, I don't know what format I should go with. Reliability is of course paramount wich kinda steers me towards Glock but god be darned I cannot stand those... things...argh. So I'm thinking 1911 wich would help offset some recoil with the weight and a familliar platform. What else shoots 10mm reliably.
 
Sig P220 in 10mm, preferably the one of the SAO versions. There was also a DA/SA, but I don't see it on the Sig website.
 
I've been waiting patiently for years for the Vltor Bren Ten...but I've resigned myself that it'll probably never get to production. I really like the look of the STI Nitro 10 but it's a little too pricey for me.
 
^^^ would love the Bren Ten too.

Other than the current crop of 1911s (Kimber, Colt Delta, STI Nitro and Perfect 10, Dan Wessons, Nighthawks), the Glocks (20, 29, 40) and the Sig P220 are the only game in town. Liking long slides, I'm tempted by the 40 but not many around yet. I love Sigs so a 220 would be a no brainer if I didn't want a 1911 or a Glock. You can get Tanfoglios/EAAs in 10mm in the US (check out IRGs US website and they have apparently improved / strengthened them. If you can find an older S&W 10XX, those would be great options too.
 
Sig website doesn't advertise a 10mm option I'll have to dig a little I guess.

Found them p220-10 sao stainless elite seems like a winner :D now lets take bets on how long it will take to order one ...

I bought myself a Glock 20 about 3 years ago because it was the only 10 mm that I could find at the time. I wasn't a fan of Glock but the 10 mm was something I wanted really badly. The pistol has run flawlessly for me over about 1000 rounds and my only complaint to date is the partially supported chamber.. as a reloader, I want to cry when I see the bulge left behind on brass.

Now that I've latched onto a few more jugs of Blue Dot, I may invest in a Storm Lake barrel and be content.

I have to admit that the adaptibility of the Glock is one of its strengths. I can easily swap springs and parts to tailor to a load, AND parts are readily available.
 
Well shoot, anyone who shoots a 10mm IS a better man for it and no bones about it! If Saint Cooper saw merit in it - you can bet it's there! To be quite honest I can't see why that cartridge isn't more popular than it is. Sig is making a 10mm now...? Oh One Lung, you wretched soul...ya blew yer gun budget on a revolver while Sig is making 10mm's? Shame and sorrow stain my soul this day...:(
