The scope is really tight over the handguard, I would say 1/16 inch of clearance !!! Maybe I will buy higher rings since I have plenty of stroke on my cheekrest...

Sry the pic is dark, you don't even see the gap but there is really one :p

I would like to test the new stock this weekend...

How long ago did you order the stock?

The rifle is a Savage model 10 FCP-K in .308 win...

Special thanks to Sean at http://www.northshorebarrels.ca/ juanvaldez here on CGNutz

The quality of the stock is just awesome !!! :p

Finally after a good rest, I will buy higher rings so maybe I will not hit the target this weekend

+1, love mine, but am considering upgrading/swapping the butt stock. Hmmm...

I only have one problem with the stock...

Today I was loking at the rifle and tried to fire a snap cap...
I just can't pull the trigger...

I can insert and remove the bolt, no problem, the trigger and bolt release works like a dream...

Load a round into it and I can't pull the trigger... even the safety lever on the Accutrigger...

I think there is a problem with the safety...
When the safety is on and off I can open the bolt, I don't think its supposed to open when safety is on ???
Is there something special with the safety when reinstalling the stock ???

Any ideas guys ??

Make sure the rear tang is seated in the chassis and not binding on the top of it;) Its a very tight clearence so if you did not tip the rear in, it may be on top. I never had an issue like that with mine. Hope you will update with the cause and the fix> PS you will love the chassis!:D

I petty sure the chassis is corectly seated...

Another thing I notice is I can't play with the safety when the bolt is cocked...

Do you have a FCP-K ???

I have a FCP-K action in an earlier model XLR chassis (.223-custom) Try take the action out completely and test the trigger/bolt and safety. Might have given something a bump while doing the install. When you reinstall make sure the tang behind the bolt is seated properly before lowering the barrel down completely. I had to remove just a touch of metel from mine(tang) to make it fit.

Ill part it out tomorrow... But I'm really curious to see where you removed some material... I'm a visual guy :p

Will inspect the rifle of course...
Thx 4 the advices !!!

I have this one...

This is fast becoming #### !!!
Slick rifle !!!

The XLR chassis for a Savage 10, is 4 pounds, for a Savage 110 action, is 4.2, and a Remington 700 sa, is 3 lbs 13 oz, and a 700 la is 4 pounds.

Hand guard fits over an aluminum squarish post, and has an allen head bolt up through the base of the handle. It has no play what so ever.

Thanks for the weights. We have had a miscommunication on the "handguard" bit. I meant the forearm tube, not the grip. The forearm is called a handguard on an AR, so I stuck with that terminology. It looks like the tube is clamped in the big split block that is over the front of the action, but I can't find a pic to confirm that.

Seen. Now if I wern't so bloody tired, and actually allowed my brain to process what my eyes saw, the correct answer would have been "It is fastened in place just ahead of the barrel nut. The large block at the back end of the hand guard, has the top portion separate, the bottom as an integral part of the receiver portion of the chassis, they are held together by 6 allen head bolts that clamp the tube in place"

edit: If I remember correctly, the tube is indexed to reassemble in a repeatable manner.

Hope that helps. And my bad for the miss read.
