Are these all measured on a rangefinder? I have met some guys whose yards were a lot shorter than mine!
X2

I've shot approx. 50+/- whitetails(?),could count the ones that were running on one hand, anywhere from straight down through the spine from treestand out to 300 give or take on two of'em.(285 paced off and 315m on GPS),a small handful between 100-200 and 80% under 100 with rifle, bow, and shotgun with a good many of those gunned inside of bow range.

I have shot over 4 dozen deer both mule deer, whitetails and coastal blacktails over the past 30 years in BC or Sask. The closest a SK WT at 58 yds (2008), the farthest another SK WT at 185 yds (2000). Coast BTs were 80 to 100 yds in clearcuts on Vancouver Island. Of the dozen MD in the tally all have been 110-135 yds and the remaining WT all from 105-145 yds. This makes my average between 100-150 yds. Given the number of deer it's is a pretty honest average and I have been fortunate they have been 98% broadside shots. The longest shot was quartering slightly to me and 100% were standing still. My friend who has only hunted the last two seasons has a longer average distance than me. One Wt at 159 yds and the second at 267 yds both standing broadside one shot ea. The novice beats the old hand in average but of course I taught him everything he knows and I was there at the shot. ;} 9 respondents over 400 yds avg?? Do their wives think a 12ga shell is 8 inches??

Great poll and some interesting comments here too!!!

ive only shot one deer so far and it was at about 250yrds sniper shot :D lol ( i know its not that awesome but kmon it was my first kill!!!)

how far away would you say the front bumper of my pickup is?

I'm developing a new deer bullet. Being it is so hard to hit a deer with something that is going 3000+ feet per second, I have decided I'm going to slow it down to 55 mph, put a horn and flashing lights on it. The deer will jump infront of it then. LOL.

All but one of mine have been inside 100 yards. That one was 320 yards with a Rem. 30-06 pump.Double lunged him and he went about 40-50 yards and done.
