I just got 2 factory 26 Chinese sks

Hey pc 9, where did you get that sks cleaning pad? I so want 1, not that I don't know how to strip it and put back together after a dozen or so times. just looks real neet, and I get in trouble cleaning on the kitchen table

What is special about factory 26?

Factory 26 was the first factory to make SKS's when the Russians gave the Chinese the tooling and technology to make them. The Sino-Soviet SKS's are rarer because they were only made for the first year (56) or so from parts that the Russians supplied to the Chinese before the Chinese started producing their own. It is the only Factory that SKS production can be dated with some expectation of accuracy, however even that lately has been called into question. Regardless you have a gem there.

Some dealer on here had them for sale.
For the life of me I can't remember.

Factory 26 was the first factory to produce rifles and produced the to the end. As a result it is pretty common to come across a factory 26 rifle - now they make commercial ATV's etc - Chairman Mao would be disappointed. The SinoSoviet rifle is interesting and the fact that both have blade bayonets versus spike bayonets (most Type 56's have the spike bayonets as they were easier and cheaper to produce. These would fetch premium pricing in the US and might fetch a premium price on this side of the border.
