Here's my version... And the spiked end cap is no joke. It's solid and sharp! Nothing junky about a Derya made Canuck. Mine's been faultless, and they're super easy to disassemble. They use Beretta scew-in mobile chokes.

The bird's head grip is fun, but it's now wearing a nicer tactical type stock.

Kurgan- I see you can hold extra shells at the bottom of your stock.

Good to hear that they are a solid running gun.
I was kinda wondering if I over paid for mine,..but seems the Canuck might be a whole lot better than the others.

Honestly, I sold two 870's and a Mossberg 500 over the years, but this one keeps hanging around. Very handy, solidly built and smooth. I did have it Cerakoted, and now it's my inclement weather shotgun. I added a quality aftermarket side saddle, pic rail, handstop, and plastic furniture (wood was too nice)... but yours has all those bases covered, except for the wood, which looks nicer! Yes, 1 in the chamber, 6 in the saddle and two on the stock.

External threads are preferable IMO. no risk of excessive protrusion/bending load on the choke threads, and then the choke is independent of the muzzle attachment.

That is true. However, the spike serves a purpose, so no need to hide it below a brake.
