To answer your questions, barrel is now about 18.5. the barrel was shortened the front sight base was machined and re-crowned by a very competent man who I have to admit is an excellent machinist . the wood and hardware are new old stock I bought from A friend and I did the modifications to the forearm and front handguard myself.
I cringed a bit.
I hope that was not a full lenght forestock.....
the ones I made I carefully selected for matching grain and colour a chunk of wood and spliced on extension to the sporterized forestock. Then hid the splice under a barrel band. This also results in having to manufacture custom lenght upper handguards.
original thread with lots of pictures (if they are still working) http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/250456-Enfield-Tanker-project-NOW-95-done
I see all the pictures are missing, I'll have to try to find them again.
