I received my PAL yesterday and placed an order for a Savage Mark II FV-SR from WholesaleSports.com.
They had them in stock in their Calgary store.

What are the processing times for a firearms purchase? Delays I can expect?
I called them and they said typically 10-12 days to my door. So whats the use of paying for Overnight Priority Shipping?
Now to go find me some CCI Blazers and Federal bulk while I wait.
I already have a Leapers UTG 3-12x44 ready. Short version.
When it gets here, off to Target Sports Center I go! Not sure what club to join yet so Target is a great option while I wait.

I'm so giddy right now. :D
Hmm, that's the first time I've used that word online...

Congrats~nothing beats the feeling of buying a new gun! Problem is, you crave that feeling very soon after buying a new one! :) I like the FV-SR, let us know how she shoots!

My two cents, clean gun before you shot it. Use good ammo for the first 50-100 rounds. This is what I've been told to do by guys on this site as well as rimfire.com
Haven't had any issues doing so.

Congrats and welcome to the "club" of wiseman! hehehe Dido on little airwolf. Clean that bastard b4 u shoot it. The FV-SR is sweet and you'll love it Im sure!

I had my FV-SR out yesterday, shot a nice 5 shot cloverleaf group @ 50 yds with CCI Blazer, be sure to inspect and clean the rifle before you shoot it. You would be surprised what you may find in a brand new barrel from grease, oil to little bits of styrofoam and cardboard. Theres all kinds of info on cleaning but be sure to use a 1 piece rod like deweys or tipton to minimize damage to the barrel. The cheap aluminum 3 piece kits will cause all kinds of bad inside the bore. The magazine may take a little bit to break in, the follower can be sticky. If it sticks, just remove it and push down on the top round to release it.

Ive never dealt with them, hopefully they get it to you asap
In my opinion, "Overnite Priorty Shipping" is just another way of getting more $$ from you.

More than enough for this firearm.

Will do it again on on my 2nd rifle. And third. And I'll be super-g***y when I buy my first .50 calibre. :ninja:

I have yet to buy any cleaning tools of any kind. Watch me get ripped off now.

Congrats! Welcome to the wide world of shooting. I ordered a Savage 12FV in .223, but when there was a delay in the shipping, I picked up a Savage Mk2-F while I was waiting!
I can add to all of the positive reviews of the Mk2. They are accurate little buggers. Don't be intimidated by some of the bigger guns, and if you have a chance to, try it out to 100m+. You'll be surprised at the results!

Have lots of fun, but remember to always be safe.
