I went to the Le Baron store in Markham to pick up a crate 0f 7.62 by 39. I asked them in the store if they are brass or not, they showed me an open box and confirm that they are all indeed brass casing” I don’t know maybe she was talking about her own t**s when she said they are all brass ” and I guess that’s what happens when you have 4 old nannies selling you Ammunitions. You could easily tell that they had no idea what they were talking about; they should go work at local ### shops instead of ammo counter in an outdoor store!!!! So I came home and opened the thing just to see that they are green steel case and NOT brass casing and I’m not even sure if they are corrosive or not!!!
mmmm even worse is the fact that they are closed tomorrow and I’m working on Monday.
Man I’m so disappointed F&*(&^% F(&^&%$ ^&*(( F*&^^%$ Beep &^%$ Beep, Beep

Your disappointed.

Why exactly?

Do a quick search and see how much surplus brass cased x39 ammo is available by the case in Canada at the moment.

I hate to sound harsh, but you're the shooter. Do your homework. If you expected anything but surplus steel cases or spendier brass cased commercial imports, you were a bit optimistic.

if the person behind the counter says these are brass cased , shows me a open box of brass cased ammo , then sells me a sealed container what they say is brass cased ammo , i'd be really really pissed too if when i got home and it was all steel cased ammo .

regardless of what homewrok the buyer did before hand , if this was intentional on the sellers part , it is fradulant behavior ........

why should the person coming into the store have to have better knowledge of the stores products than the people selling them ?

Actually, it's rare that the person behind the counter of a big gun store has more knowledge than I do on a product I want to buy. Before I get there I've already researched it. :)

It isn't a case of fraud. Learn the meaning of the term before you accuse someone of it.

I am not saying it was a fraud or even intentional. I am just saying that you as a customer are the one that brings business to store and money in the owners pockets. The least that you can do to return the favor or for the sake of not ruining the business, is to train the people that are going to interact with your customers! For god sake I have so many stories from all stores in GTA, I was told by target sport in Stouffville once that slugs are prohibited in Canada and... Whether you want to believe me or not.

its a hit and miss with lebarons surplus x39 ammo.

I got three crates, and all are different. One is brass like OP wanted, one is green coated steel and the last one is green coated steel but the crate is totally different than the first two. that sucker is nailed together instead of having hinges and latches like previous two.

The crates are market with a weight. 28, 29 or 30KG. The crate that was brass was 30KG, so that might be a hint as to which one to grab next time.

All surplus they sell is corrosive

And it's not like you will reload it anyway, costs more than to buy another case, not to mention that you will have to remove that berdan primer

look it up yourself .......

as i said previously , if this was INTENTIONAL on the sellers part it would be fraudulant .

and AGAIN ....

according to the op " I asked them in the store if they are brass or not, they showed me an open box and confirm that they are all indeed brass casing” " .........

do they just keep a open box of brass cased ammo for display purposes ?

what the op wanted , what he was told he was getting was completely different from what he paid for .

Buy something, and it turns out it isn't what you wanted.....
Option One: return it for exchange or refund.
Option Two: start a whinethread on the 'net.
Which is more likely to result in obtaining what was wanted in the first palce?

I would need to see the boxes, but weight will help, as mentioned above.

I assume this ammo is Romanian. There was a comparison in the other Romanian ammo thread.
