Well then, if it was Jean at P&S, then either one of those rifles would have been fairly represented and priced, so you really couldn't go wrong.

He's first class and treats new and old collectors with patience....

He is, and I just received the M1 and RC Mauser I orderred from him, today....VERY nice. I will definitely be trying them out, along with the LE soon.

Don't worry about a 2-groove barrel; they are fine.

When I was hanging around with the local Bisley guys, they said that a 2-groove Number 4 was just fine up to and including 600 yards. After that, they would insist on a 5-groove, or a 6-groove barrel. Starting at about 800 or 900, the old Smellies came out of hiding!

I went through this and ended up with a MK2 not that I wouldn't like to get a LB again if the price was right.
