I know this is a long shot but I thought I'd give it a try. I just recently purchased a Colt SAA 45LC revolver. It's the Cavalry Model 7.5" barrel, made in 1877, as per the serial # 38,###. Even though its called the Cavalry Model, it doesn't have the US stamped on it, meaning this particular one went to the civilian population. I'm trying to research its ownership history as best I can, the problem being though, I purchased it from a gun store in the Orillia Ontario area and it was a consignment deal. The only information the gun store would give me, was that the previous owner was deceased and his estate was selling it. Because of the privacy act I couldn't get his name. So the long shot hope is, is that a previous owner to the deceased owner might recognize this gun and get in touch with me. Again its the Colt SAA, 45lc, 7.5" barrel, serial # 38,###,(1877) purchased on a consignment deal in the Orillia Ontario area. If someone thinks they might have owned this gun, pics of course could be provided. Thanks for any help.
