I like it dirty

Just make sure your brass does not have any debris on the outside that could damage youre die, as mentioned. After that, no problems whatsoever and no, you're not a bad person. Hell, you don't even have OCD like so many others here......

I LIKE IT CLEAN I take good care of my brass after everytime it's fired. Chamfer and deburring is conducted to seat the bullet and chamber the cartridge smoothly into the chamber. The same applies when having clean brass..................... it chambers smoothly. Needless to, say et al did, clean brass is good for spotting blemishes, cracks or any other areas of defects or stress. I can't imagine what your chamber looks like. If I didn't clean my brass I would at least give my chamber a good scrubbing. Check out the "Accurate Shooter Website," there is good informnation on proper reloading.

I just like the look of nice shiny brass on my bench, waiting to be resized. To each his own is what I say. If it works for you, who cares....

Guess my never cleaned brass from my BSA .222 that shoots under 1/2 " at 100 had better get cleaned now. i have been so neglectful. Just kidding you all. being wiped so it does not ruin the dies is all i deemed necessary. but TRUE...to each thier own.

Sort of a similar question....I do clean my brass but only through vibrating media. I bought the Lyman red stuff and while it polishes the hell out of the outside, a very small amount of red dust collects on the walls of the inside, should I be blasting out this dust before reoading or will it have no effect at all?

I gotta have it clean 'n shiny. Got some bulk Norinco .45 ammo, that had a bit of a green tinge to it.
So, into the tumbler it went for about 20 minutes. Met my standards after that.

It won't have any effect. But you should consider the plain stuff. It can be bought cheaply at pet stores and sand blasting suppliers. That red dust gets everywhere eventually.

I totally intend to. I just discovered our friend at budget shooter supply also carries untreated media so I'll bet picking some up soon. I only asked as I wanted to try reloading what I've cleaned so far and wondered if I should wait to use the untreated stuff when it arrives to clean it out or if it's ok as is.

Hell, your like about 98% of us were, until about thirty years ago, when tumbling brass cases in a rock and gem tumbler was thought of.

I have a neat little Thumblers Tumbler that I have used for 30 years or more. I don't always clean the brass, but it does look nicer, plus as above, it easier to check for defects.
