No it's not a uber fancy rifle or built precision rig but for a starter gun for a novice LR shooter like me, best $1000 bucks I've ever spent. I adjusted the stock trigger as low as possible, it's below 2 lbs (can't lift a litre of water) and is as crisp as glass.

The Setup:

The Target (I was developing a load and will probably go with this for now)

The apple at 300m (this one survived because of the glancing blow, the others just blew up)

Having owned (and still do) several, I maintain that Tikkas are the most accurate factory rifles going. They really shoot! (and apparently - so do you!) The only frustration is the selction of accessories for them, but they have a very smooth action, and their barrels are fantastic!

I'm assumming that is a 6.5X55? Fantastic choice!!!!

I got on in 30/06 and it shoots .5" three shot groups consistanly at 100 and under 3" at 300 and Im shure a better shooter or with better optics it would shoot better.

hi there what powder and primers are you using. i have the same exact gun with a different scope and im also using the vlds with 37.1 gr of imr 4064.

I bought a Tikka too. I'm glad i didn't listen to ChuckHawks review he absolutely hated the gun, but my question is did he ever fire it?

I have the exact same set up right now but I am taking the Bushnell off and putting a Leupold Mark 2 4-12x40 T2 with Mildot on instead.

I even have RE 22 waiting on the shelf LOL..

I have not had a chance to fire mine yet but MysticPrecision has been helping me with mounts etc...

I hope mine shoots as well as yours!
