So yeah in the crawlspace of the house I cam across this mass arms break barrel 12GA.

Rusty as hell and the forestock was cracked bad.

Cleaned it up a bit and it looked ok to shoot. Finally got around to testing it today.

Seems to work ok.

Plan to clean it up more and then do this maybe?

My buddy found one of those types of gun.
He gave it to me and I decided to register it......
Turns out it was already registered to a federal inmate!!!!!
The RCMP were nice enough to transfer it into my name though.

You were right to test it. Depending on how hot your attic gets, the steel might have lots it's hardness.

Just kidding, nice find. The only thing I found in my attic was insulated soffits.

Best way I found to test a long gun, is to place the butt in a car tire,

with the barrel resting over the other side of it, and tied down.

I love your test rig but a little high tech compared to the set up I had at one time.I used to tie the odd gun down to an old, heavier than hell oak office chair.I don't think a cannon could have knocked it over.

Found a old beautiful Spanish Flint Lock all inlaid and wire wrapped in an Attic while helping my father do Electrical work,. He was claustrophobic so he sent me up into the attic to do the electrical work, I was 15,Ha! Wish I had the gun still, but left it with the house owner. Wish I found an nice English sidelock in an attic one day! Dale Z!
