I love my Glock model 20 (10mm)!!!!!!!

G'day everyone.

I bought a G20 off another member of CGN of couple of months back, but today was the first chance I had to take it to the range and let it rip.

This is my first glock, and a big departure for me, since all my other guns are steel. (Norinco 1911 in 9mm, and a S/W 4506 in .45)

First impressions were fantastic. Loved the grip and sights, and the power from the 10mm (AWESOME!!!). Huge kick, huge muzzle blast!

I wanted to write this to show that even a closed minded (if it isn't steel I don't want to know it) kind of guys. I decided to take a chance on a glock and am supremely happy with the decision. I may even look for a 9mm model later to add to my collection.

glad you have found something more to enjoy (and spend $$$ on)..

you should try the Sigs or HK too, of course there are many other "plastic" guns out there too...


if you have access to a pistol range that has range guns, that would be a good way to try a few of the popular pistols out there to help you with your reseach...
 
I love mine too. I've got the "C" version and it's amazing! I'm thinking about getting the G29 and using it to CCW in the States.

That is a really nice picture!!!

What kinda camera you using? The detail is very good. The grain in the leather shows very well. What kinda leather jacket is that?

Who did the stainless barrel and slide release and custom work? I thought the stock C models were still 'blued'.

Does the comp blur your sight picture?

That is one sweet 10 mm.
 
I have both a G20 with a KKM 5" 10mm barrel, a KKM 4 3/4" 40S&W barrel and a Advantage Arms 22LR conversion kit.

I also have a G29 with 4.25" 10mm & 40S&W barrels.

These guns are awesome but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the G29 due to being able to use full size G20 mags or the short stock mags if I want which makes it great for both remote area carry or CCW.

I bought my G29 for CCW when in the States and to use for remote area carry with my ATC then the new RCMP chief firearms officer wouldn't allow my semi-auto's onto my permit so it now only goes to the range or into the States.

If I could only own 2 handguns one would be the G29 the other my 4.25" Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull.

10mm rocks, I owned a G29 before - then I discovered the .45 Super ;)

I would say that the G20 is the most versatile handgun made :stirthepot2: For me it's the Alpha and Omega of semi-auto handguns (ergonomics, durability, power, verstaility).

It is big but my hands are big enough that I can pick a basketball up with one hand (XXL). It is a purely utilitarian working piece - the antithesis of a flashy 1911 which only makes me like it that much more.

I have basically sold or am in the process of selling every other handgun (except my HKP7s and one revolver) in favour of just shooting G20s and shooting them well.

I have 2 G20s with spare .40 barrels and a .22 conversion kit. I can fire anything from nuclear 10MM rounds to .22 LR from one gun. One is mounted with a Docter optic and fited with a .40 Storm Lake barrel and it will turn 1" groups from a rest at 25 yards.

The camera is a Nikon CoolPix 995. The Jacket is an Icon Motorhead. Fantastic jacket, it's got all the armor inside, zippers for venting, super comfy etc. I polished the slide myself with a Dremel and metal polishing compound. Took about 2 hours to get it just right. All the internal and external mods I did myself. The Glock is an amazingly easy gun to work on. I got most of the parts at rockyourglock.com and brownells.
The mods are:
Complete spring kit
Chrome slide stop
Chrome pins
Chrome extended slide stop lever
Extended mag release
Stainless guide rod
Tru-Glo TFO sights
25 cent trigger job
3.5# connector
Punisher slide cover
.40cal Stormlake barrel (I've only shot 40 rounds so far with it)

At the time I was shooting I didn't notice any flame at all. It was only after watching the video that I realized there was some flame.

And with the AA .22lr kit installed. Spent about 8 hours polishing it. Came out quite nice. I could probably get it much nicer but just got tired of polishing.

You know posts like this really get me into trouble! I would love a 10mm but I have to slow down. I am not rich and this sport is getting so addictive it's going to take me to the poor house!
