It started out as sporterized 1903A3 that had its chamber cut back and re-threaded to accept the .308, it was also tapped for the Redfield jr mount ( neither mod was done by me ) so i thought it would make a perfect project for a 1903A4 clone. Being that it's in .308 suits me fine as i'm already shooting that round in the M14 and M1 Garand. After sitting on this build for quite some time, i finally got the chance to take her out for a test drive today and i have to say that i am impressed to say the least. After setting up and dialing in the ol' Lyman Alaskan it started to piss down rain and the fog started rolling in but i wasn't going to let that ruin my fun. Using 147 gr winchester white box i was averaging 1.5 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yds ( Not including the occasional flyer when the fog was thick ) i could only imagine what would happen with this rifle if it were bedded and hand loads were used. Needless to say! i had a great day on the range despite the weather and i couldn't be happier with this rifle. Sorry about the bad pic, i only have my Blackberry.
