I love shooting Rimfire...that is all...

Not that difficult to put 700 rounds of .22lr downrange in one day fellas. I'm at the range by 7am. Go home for supper around 4pm. No mystery here. Just nine hours of pure joy plinking away to my heart's content. I'll go through about a brick and a half if I take the Lakefield 64b along too.
I go through 10-12 paper targets. Each paper target measures 8"x11" and has 15 targeting circles. Five rounds per circle. All rounds accounted for via scope @ 50 yds.
I also manage to shoot about two boxes of commercial 7.62x39 at the same time at 100 yds.

Not something I do every day. I'm also not hogging the range as there's rarely anyone else during the week day.

This'll be out of my system soon. I'm trying to make up for 30 years of not being able to shoot just for the shear fun of it.

700 is a lot of rounds but your math doesn't add up.

1 round every 10 seconds = 6 rounds per minute
700 rounds shot at 6 rounds per minute = 116.667 minutes = less than 2 hours

Your math works out to 19,753 rounds over the course of 8 hours.

In fact, the best I can manage is five rounds per minute (that's 45 seconds for the five aimed shots and 15 seconds to reload.)
I can only sustain that for 30 minutes without my aim suffering. I'll take a quick 10 minute break and get back to it.
Realistically though, my rate of fire is much more leisurely than that. Let's say five rounds in two-five minutes. It's supposed to be fun, not work:)

Had to check your math because I can go through 500 .22 rds. in short order.

Try about 42 secs. per shot, or 10 shots in 7 minutes.

Would take a little over 8 hrs.

Not a difficult task for a true gunnutter!:D

Well sheet. No wonder I never majored in math. :p I guess the early morning lead me to some "fuzzy logic".

I don't consider rimfire a waste of time at all. In fact, I've got a new found respect for it. I enjoy it almost as much as centerfire rifle shooting.

RIM fire all day every day, to much fun. Everyone I take shooting loves the ruger hunter convertible specially the girls... Hahahaha. Bang

I hear ya... a .22lr is mandatory for anyone with a firearms license and I totally agree on the guilt free shooting. Firing off 500rnds in a couple hours is priceless.
