I love the smell of cosmoline in the morning

Just oiling-up some sks to make sure they dont rust,,,havnt had a chance to go shooting since September

I see most seem to hate cosmoline,,greasy, smelly etc

But I like the smell of it

It smells like -- fill in the blanks--

To me,,its how an old military surplus gun should smell.

I am neutral to the smell of Cosmoline but I do like the smell of Ballistol. I just cleaned the grease off of a new 91/30 last night, a lot of the Cosmoline was hardened on, d'oh!

have a couple of empty sks crates in the garage and can't help lifting the lids once in a while to inhale a wiff of cosmo. addicted to cosmo? uhhhhh, no. smells like history to me

One of my favourite smells actually, I bought a handful of reference books last year. All between 50-100 years old, sometimes I just pick them off the bookshelf and smell the pages lol.
