Dude, if you ever get the urge to sell it, PM me. I was really cheesed off when Remington discontinued those before I got the chance to buy one...

Took a small bear last week with my little 60s style "harpoon" in 350RM. Here's a pic - compact and very funtional for woods hunting - completely silent safety too. 2.5X Leup on it.

I like the ventilated rib. Does that make it easier to aquire the targets while trap shooting?

Looking at this old thread, used to have a plain Rem Mohawk in 308 with a Williams peep sight for my camp gun many years ago. Shoulda kept it. Talk about loud !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want ugly? This is ugly....however it will put a magazine full of 286 gr soft points into three inches at 200 meters, so it stays.

And, when it gets scratched, you just get the can out again. :)

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I have a brutally ugly L61R in .338 that's been shortened, lightened, jammed into a scarred up MPI stock, and looks like death warmed over. But it's totally reliable, wickedly accurate, and always the one that I reach for when I'm really serious about it. The pretty ones stay in the safe, or go to the range on Sundays.

Sometimes those not-so-glamorous gals are the best cooks.
