A friend gave me a big bag of 9mm ammo. Now I'm not sure what it exactly is or if it is safe to shoot in my Springfield XD9. Now forgive me for my stupidity I just want to make sure. It say 9mm d.a.62 cdn1 on the bottom. Here is a photo.

Smells military to me http://gigconceptsinc.com/files/hstcodes.pdf
I do see an entry DA04A, that should be stamped D.A.Q. 62 9mm that sounds like it might be it if that 6 is actually a Q. Or something.

Dominion Arsenal, Québec, Canada. This is a guess, but made in 2002?
Others might tell you more, that's as much as my googlefu can come up with.

My preliminary guesstimate would be that it is safe to shoot in a standard 9x19. How many of these did you get?

Thanks Stevebot-7 that would make sense could be a q hard to read, I have half a shopping bag full. 200-300 easy I havn't counted them yet. Mostly wanted to make sure they were safe to shoot. My google didn't even come with that info so thanks.

Thank you for all the helps guys. The ammo ran fine, but like you said it was a little hot.
