Well my Antique Parts gun i put together had a crack in its orignal 135 year old frame latch and busted.
What to do Parts are very hard to come by Latches especialy
So i decided to make a Latch! outa 4140 steel and put in a better latch screw!
Its a s**t load of work Fileing ECT something Mooncoon could Apreciate
Heres the pics it started as a chunk of flat barr steel.

The one in the back ground is Another latch off the Same type of S&W but its going back into the Orignal minty gun its just for comparrison and i used it to measure ect!
I did a few what i think are improvements like.
Moveing the sights back.
The hammer fits in a ground out slot so the gun cant break open once the hammers down and fired.
This gun was a pile of mixed up parts so no History lost here.
Now i can get back to Shooting it and refinishing it
