I messed up my Mark 3

Not try and sell a guy a tool. Hes probably going to take out a big rubber hammer and block of wood, Then hammer out the bolt, try and get the mag out by maybe hammering the reciever back a bit, then hammer the mag down and then take the receiver off. Because nothing you can do other then that.

But a disassembly tool isn't going to help.

My point was there is really no need to take it to a smith as the op could probably use youtube, a hammer and a block of wood and save the money he would be spending on a smith. I was just showing that there is a tool to take down that pistol.
I could really give a rats ass if he does or not. Wasn't trying to get him to do anything just showing him there is another way of doing it.

Nothing you suggest was anything about fixing the gun. You just used this to promote this tool. You talked about the tool and person, Offered to split shipping because ordering another, then talk about how hes a master smith and a fan boy because you have all his tools. Nothing about that tool scream big hammer. The main spring is already out so your tool is invalid.

I have a 22/45 mark 3. Bought it 8 years ago, shot 1k through it, broke something while cleaning, got it repaired, left in safe since early 2009.
 
You're in Quebec. Ruger's warranty and repair Centre is in Quebec and I had a situation like yours.
I sent them my Mark III 22/45 stainless. I had another problem. In machining the dovetail for the rear-sight,
the bottom of the dovetail was not exactly horizontal. You had to tilt the gun to "see" the rear sights properly.
Since they had stopped production of the Stainless, they offered me a replacement.

Because people were less then happy with the attempts to fix the dovetails on other Ruger guns so they just offer replacements. I had a replacement due to miss drilled holes for the receiver base. I got one back March 2015 production with a crooked front sight.

I cleaned my ruger for the first time and it took me 3 hours. About 5 minutes to get it open, 30 minutes to clean it...and the rest to get it back together. Actually it was the last little notch that took all the extra time. Then I tried to put it back together without the barrel and slide on it while looking inside. Instant view of the problem. I suggest you do the same. Once you see the mechanisms trying to link up together it becomes very very clear and easy to put the gun back together because you know what the problem is going to be and you can adapt to it. If i had to do it again all over.... it'd be 5 minutes to take it apart and 5 minutes to close it up. Seriously, it's not as bad as you think.
 
On Rugers mobile site there's a very good video for disassembly and assembly. I use it every time I clean mine. Maybe someday my slow salt water logged brain will remember lol

Muzzle down and pull trigger to get the spurr down towards the trigger, then when you get the mainspring in, flip it muzzle up and don't latch till there is tension.

There is likely nothing wrong with your Ruger. Since the mag is, I'm guessing, still in the gun, you can't pull the mainspring out. Try this instead. With the muzzle angled down, pull the trigger and use a quick motion to thrust the gun forward and then kind of snap it back. Almost like you are going to throw it down muzzle first but the stop at the last second. Hold the trigger in the entire time. First time taking mine apart with Ruger's BS mag disconnect I had the exact same issue. Mag jammed in the gun, bolt stuck and cannot disassemble it. I tried flipping it forward and something moved inside freeing it up.

Once you get her free, look at it and try to understand the function of all the parts. It is a confusing gun, but I have torn mine down to the frame many times and if you understand it, then it becomes simple. Replacing the mag disconnect with two small washers will make it very easy to tear down and put back together. I also removed the loaded chamber indicator and modified the bolt release so that you can slingshot it. These are not permenent mods and you can save the original parts and replace them at any time if you wish. I should add, that with no mag disconnect the mags fly out when you hit the release.
