i need a decent poor mans acog

just put a choate mount on my sks. now im looking for a small red dot or very compact scope with a fixed power magnification 3-5 to put on my sks that wont eat the casings as i shoot. i really dont feel like putting a shell casing deflector on it. any recomendations? im lookin to spend 300$ tops. 300$ isnt a lot i know but hey its only a sks.

Perhaps for that price range you might wanna consider a Vortex Strikefire. It's comes with a thread on style eye piece that magnifies to I think 2x. Just a thought, it's prolly the best quality you can get in that price range, plus their warranty is the best their is.

all nice suggestions so far for red dots. still looking for more magnification then 2X though. im looking for something similar to the burris AR 332. i like the AR 332 but with its bullet drop comsenation for .223 it kinda rules it self out.

Might be a tough find in your price range, well atleast finding something that wont break after a bump in the safe or after a rapid fire session...

The Viper PST 1-4x24 may be an option, it's alittle more money but it may be worth considering.

i am picking up a millet later on this month for my tavor. it never occured to me to try it on my sks. might be a tad long though. i might have to invest in a shell case deflector after all wich i really dont want to do.

Was looking for the same thing - picked up a Burris AR-332

3x magnification + illuminated recticle for $316 at sportsmans warehouse. Works great and i like it better than my Elcan.
