hi their i was invited to a hunt camp but it looks like its not going to work out. i was wondering if anyone has an opening in their camp. i am willing to pay, help work and maintain, cook, do anything necesary (well almost everything) i have own transportation and a fourwheeler. fully licensed and ready to go. i would like to hunt for moose or deer doesnt matter to me i just wanna go huntin' and noone in my family hunts. but i have some hunting experience(mostly bow hunting)

the camp would have to be somewhere in ontario.

if anyone wants to give a young guy a chance it would be appreciated!

thanx
matt

I posted this in the other forum, but just so you see it...here it is again:
As far as the "not being able to find a camp" thing......no one that doesn't know you is going to say "Hey! Why don't you come up and live with us for a week or two, and let us put our personal safety and/or success of our hunt in your hands" It doesn't work that way. Instead of looking for an invite to a hunt camp for a season, look for some people to just spend a saturday in the field or a day at the range. That way people can get a "feel" for you (and you for them)

Could you imagine if you came to a hunt camp for two weeks (Esp, one like ours which is a 26 hour drive to the middle of nowhere) and you HATED the a**holes there?

Seriously....I'm always up for helping a new guy, and if you wanted to come up for a day (Penetang....just N of Barrie) I'd take you out. But when it comes to a camp? Thats more about making friends and earning the invite.

i hear what your saying and thanx for the reply. ye if anyone has an opening i would gladly go to the gun club to meet first or grab a coffee. i wouldnt go to a camp without meeting the people and i wouldnt excpect to be invited without a meeting. i just wondered if anybody knew of someone to contact.

good points, that's exactly what I was thinking. I wouldn't invite a complete stranger into our camp and subject the other members to who knows what. No offence mjcurry but I think like WrongWay said, meet a few hunters and show them you know what your doing and that you know how to handle a firearm and hope you get invited. Camps are always looking for new people, but they have to be the right fit.

yeah I've been looking for one and its very hard to find any... even just a "date" with someone for a day at the range just to get to know eachother and stuff.
