i'am looking to load my 7-08 and i need the round to do three things

(1) be as accurate as hell

(2) take down large heavy game
(3) hit like a trian

now i know i'll need two different loads being moose/cyote so the more info the better

p.s i'am releativly new to hand loading so please excuse the confusion/ and would a 139sst take down a moose?

Unfortunately you'll never know what load is accurate out of your rifle until you try it, so one guy's pet load might not shoot worth a darn out of your gun.

Yes, a 139 sst would take down a moose, but you might want to look at "tougher" bullets like the Barnes TSX or Nosler Partition. Actually there are lots of good bullets on the market these days. If I had a 7-08, I'd probably try 140 Barnes TSX, and if it shot well, go hunting.

Your best source of information is probably a good reloading manual, preferably two so you can cross reference the information. They'll also give you a good idea of what powders to try first. There are also free load booklets available from powder makers like IMR, but they don't have the kind of information that a good reloading manual does.

I've had very good luck with the good old Hornady Interlocks at these velocities. They are much less cost than the "premium" bullets, allowing you to practice at reasonable expense. Also, they're available in a variety of bullet weights - from 100 to 170 grain.
Most rifles will preferentially tune to a particular bullet weight - pick up a couple of weights ie 100-120 gr, 139 gr, and 154 and go at it! Finally, many people find that flat based bullets are more accurate than boat-tails at typical hunting distances (less than 300 y)

The SST Interlocks shoot very well out of my 7mm-08 with just about any powder combo. I dont think I would shoot them at a moose. I dont feel they are constructed tough enough to do the job on moose. For deer, sure, fire away but for moose I move to a Partition Nosler 140g.

I dont have much experience with the SST's - as they are boattails... I find the flat base SP's are more accurate in the rifles I shoot, and the game drops nicely. Recently, I've been shooting 154 RN out of a (commercial) Mauser in 7X57 - an accurate, mean combination...

7mm08

Have a 99c Savage lever in 7-08, 22 inch bl.

remington brass, ww. lrp, 175gr Hornady .284 spire point. 3 shots/ 100yd.

43.0 gr. Imr4350 Vel: 2456, 2463, 2458 fps 1.25 in. group
46.0 gr. Imr4831 Vel: 2432, 2450, 2487 fps 1.10 in. group

36.0 gr. Reloder 15 Vel: 2176,2189,2203,2230,2200 fps. 5 shots/ 75 yd

4 shots 0.5O inch 5th shot opened it to 0.80 inch
These loads are max in my gun. This is the only heavyweight 7mm08 loads i have as all the rest are 140 grains or less.

These proved accurate for me but as they say...your mileage may vary

I use 140gr nosler BT to work a load, and then change to 140gr nosler Partitions to hunt they almost print the same point in my gun, but if you want a bullet that will penatrate the best and shoot the flatest and very accurate use the 140 gr Lost River J36 nothing I have tested penatrates like these, but there expensive, and but the highest BC of any bullet I have found

Good luck
