I have a model 700 Rem mountain rifle, chambered in 280 Rem. The barrel came factory with a flaw in the rifling. Any ideas on where to look?

Unless .280 is the only caliber that would be acceptable, I would watch for a take-off factory barrel. .30-06. .270, .25-06, whatever turns up.
Certainly a lot less expensive than a custom barrel. If it has got to be a .280, and cost is not important, then a custom barrel would be the way to go.
Exactly what is the flaw in the rifling? How does the rifle shoot?

Unless you are seriously attached to that particular rifle, a new custom barrel and installation will cost the same or a bit more then a brand new 700 CDL.
Used take off would be the way to go, see them between $100-$250 usually brand new.
