Update: Bayard firing pin found: post #5

I'm looking for a part for my Bayard .22 Rifle #1. As I posted in an earlier thread, the striker in mine developed a hairline fracture. I'd hoped to find one at the Kamloops gun show, but no luck. Then I was going to flog the rifle for whatever I could get for it, but my wife tells me she likes it the best of all the stuff I own! Hey, she's showing an interest, so I'm thrilled :) I've told her I'll keep it, and will have a machinist make one if necessary, but I'd rather have the real deal.
Anyone out there got one you'd part with?

Myself I would go with machinist. But that is me, I always fiddle with the equipment. I successfully made my own firing pin for my Mossberg - I ordered one online but had no patience to wait for a delievery. The one I made is still firing and I have no idea where the one I bought went, lost somewhere in my junk box.

Consider how much time and money will you spend looking for brand new part and what will it cost you to make one - I bet price will be comparable, but the one you make will be awailable right now. To me its major point, summer is here why waste the best of it waiting for part.
 
Overdue update: at last years KTSA gun show, found an old beat up Bayard like mine, missing a few bits and with a badly cracked stock. Paid $40, took it home and found the firing pin was intact, and fit my gun like a dream. I tried it out last summer, using .22 shorts on steel swinging gongs at 50 meters. It was quite accurate, really a fun gun- I was grinning the whole time. Now I'm looking for more shorts. :D Who'da thunk it?
So now I have some spare parts... if anyone is interested.
