I'd have to double check but I think my LMT mrp is a 1:7. While my Stag is a 1:9 but... I bought mine a while ago and now they do sell Syag with 1:7 twist.

North East Arms sells Stag. Shipping isn't that bad. They're a site sponsor so the banner is at the top of this page.

Wolverine has DD I believe.

stag makes the standard model and then sells an advanced package that has MP, 1:7, better steel, m4 feedramps and what not.

armseast only brings the better ones in

Nope they are a whole lot heavier too not to mention increase in recoil

Yes they are the manly AR!!! :p

Stick with the AR15 if you want to shoot lots and do lots of CQB while keeping the cost down. Go with the AR10 (Really only counts for Armalite rifles but the term is used generically rather than 308AR) if you want more of a designated marksman rifle. Think semi auto replacement for a tactical bolt gun.

That being said there is something about shooting the AR10 over the AR15. It's just so much fun. At first there were only a few of us that were shooting AR10 rifles, but now thanks to the States it's really picking up. No longer are there only a couple of choices. Most manufacturers are making a 308 AR now. There are a lot more 308AR rifles shooters these days than previously. It won't be long before they are no longer a rare sight.

Warning:

Not to be confused with the AR Tranny!! The AR Tranny has a "tactical knob" where there shouldn't be one.

This is what the real thing looks like. Don't be fooled and end up with an unpleasant surprise!! Ask Fireball sometime about his misadventures in Australia. Crickey!!!

Fixed it... North Eastern Arms makes an AR-15 platform, but as far as I can see from their website, they don't sell other manufacturers'. Arms East, on the other hand, is a site sponsor and a Stag dealer.

I want an AR... and the more I read in this forum the harder the decision gets. OP, good luck with your decision!

Yes meant Arms East. Not the other one. I'm not recommending the other one at this time.

Welcome to the addiction!

If you want to step it up a notch.....try an AR10. :D

Well fireball

I don't intend on only buying one AR!
Definitely will consider an AR-10. But for now I'll stick to an
AR-15 one for me and one for the old lady then I plan on a few more hand guns
Then I'll get back to the AR family for some semi-auto distance. Hopefully the AR-10 has a little less kick than my tikka 300 hahaha

Here's an easy one to take off that list then...
Smith&Wesson M&P15 MOE

Wow I am surprised. I thought s&w were pretty reputable... Guess not lol. Duelly noted! Leaves the 3... Still not an easy choice :( for me anyways
Ive been reading both dd thread and core15 thread. Both seem to impress, and that LMT seems respectable. Wish I could just get em all! Well right this second anyways ha!

Just figured I'd help you narrow it down to three. There's nothing wrong with the S&W - I just think the others have far more going for them. Myself, having owned an LMT, I'd probably either go DD or LMT followed by Core15.

:agree: LMT and DD would be my first choice than!

After going through this debate myself I got a LMT and have never looked back. It has been excellent.

So say I go with LMT...which seems to be the most talked about
Model i'm thinking about:
LMT-STD16-F
LMT - Standard Defender Package 16' Chrome lined barrel with A2 Flash Hider & SOPMOD Adjustable Stock.

Whats the difference between the standard defender barrel and the Questar's Export Barrel, 'compliant' receiver extension tube?

reason I'm going for the "standard" model is because I don't want the full top rail of the CQB version. But, I may change my mind. Either way I will put a quad rail on. Also I want the A2 flash hider.
