So say I go with LMT...which seems to be the most talked about
Model i'm thinking about:
LMT-STD16-F
LMT - Standard Defender Package 16' Chrome lined barrel with A2 Flash Hider & SOPMOD Adjustable Stock.

Whats the difference between the standard defender barrel and the Questar's Export Barrel, 'compliant' receiver extension tube?

reason I'm going for the "standard" model is because I don't want the full top rail of the CQB version. But, I may change my mind. Either way I will put a quad rail on. Also I want the A2 flash hider.

The 'compliant' version doesn't have a flash hider or any threading. If you're going to put a quad rail on it anyway, you might as well go with something like the LMT-CQB145-F. I like the 10.5" length, but that's just me. ;)

Just read an article on the DD rifles and nothing but good stuff! anyone have any experience on DPMS? are they deece or what? reason I ask is because a local shop is supplying.

DPMS is a consumer grade rifle. I love my DPMS LR-308 as a target rifle. If going for a target rifle then it's a good product. If going for a patrol carbine or military style rifle then no. Unless it's an entry rifle to get you into it or a target rifle then I would pass. The price is very good and it's a decent firearm. But it's not up to the military hardware style specs of the others.
