I need comment about the Savage B mag in 17WSM

I have been scouring the web for a long time trying to find some positive news regarding this exact same thing. I keep hearing OVER and OVER that it is a combination of the Savage rifle just not being as accurate as some of their other rifle designs, plus the ammunition seems to have an inherent accuracy issue. Not much one can do if ammo is made by a single maker and is proprietary, and not reloadable. I wonder why no other rifle maker has released one in this caliber? Is the chambering copyrighted? Why has Savage not tried this ammo in some of their other rifles? I'm sure that one of their engineers can make that cartridge work in an existing , accurate platform.

Savage has changed the twist rate from 1:9 to 1:8 with a recommended load of 25 grain, to help accuracy. I don't think it's a clear cut, seems again owners are either happy with it or not. Difficult to say, since not all 17 WSM owners are voicing their take on it. Volquartsen has a 17 WSM semi-auto model in production, and Ruger is coming out soon with their 17 WSM model 17/77. Savage had better hurry and supply a consistent product. As far as split cases for the 17 WSM, doesn't seem to be an issue. The 17 HMR is known to have brass split, but I don't know much about that.

I think ruger has one they are releasing. Pretty sure it was at shot this year.

Now you don'"t have to deal with that craptastic salvage

Well thank God. I'm a Ruger man and might actually check that out...........................although I am still having a total love affair with my Savage 93r17BVSS and my Taurus Tracker . Both in .17HMR. Jeezus, that combination is , as we'd say back home in NFLD, "sum shockin fun"

With hornady, federal and Winchester serving ammo, it will be fine. Some b-mags are decent shooters and others not, as said by others, with the Ruger, Volquartsen, Winchester (1885) and Savage in spotter and target weight already being made, I don't think it will fade away and now we have choices. There is an AR platform in the us that looks like a wild time too. Wish we could get it here for varminting.
