I need help valuing a savage 24b-dl 65-70% condition.

My neighbor has a savage 24b-dl in pretty good shape the blue is a bit worn and there are some nicks in the wood but all in its pretty nice. I want to make a fair offer to him what do these go for? I can find a few examples in the US but the gun are in better shape and seem to be listed in the mid 500 range. Any advice would be appreciated.

Nice clean ones seem to go for around $475. Four hundred would not be unreasonable if it shows a lot of use.
