i am going down to US for training and i would like to take my firearms (if you are going down for training dont go with rental rifle)but i have problem with rifle (this is not my first "be a superman school" trip) its 14.5 inch barrel with US lower, and i really like this rifle because i had for 8 years so i think she will run fine. but ATF sure not happy with 14.5 inchs barrel so i am thinking why not put a long xm-177 type flash hider on barrel weld it on place make it 16 inches (is it 16 or 16.5 ?) and change the total barrel lenght.
please guys i really need a lot of hand here thank you. :runaway:

why dont you call the ATF and ask? Where did the 14.5" barrel come from....pretty sure the US. Also what is the first state that you will be entering? State to State laws very on barrel lengths. I could see NY being picky but others not. Also things are different if you fly. Think about Canada Customs on the way back and if they inspect and the 14.5 or now 16.5" welded flash hider.

Its worth the call to the AFT and they are pretty good about questions.... unlike other agencies that will remain nameless.

you cannot have under 16" on a rifle in the U.S (unless you have the tax stamp which you cant get unless your american)

you can weld on an extension thats ok by U.Slaws means NOTHING in canada but its U.S legal

thanks guys i am just gonna buy a new rifle (CMMG 14.7 LW K.I.S.S. Carbine w/Permanent Hider) if i can get one. this one is from US so i can take it back right?, this trip cost more money. got a get new 1911 and m4 WTH! but i cant justify buy two car-15. this is nutz. i just got a norinco 311( abuse gun, like like a fat female friend you can do anything without feeling awful.oh god i am a bad man).

also notice that its illegal for the center your going to to train aliens like you so even if you get there you could still end-up in very deep poupou.

You cannot buy firearms in the US -- and you cannot export them.

As for training -- depending on the course and ciriculum it may be restricted to LE/MIL.

Of course if your a resident alien - your GTG...

thanks,i been BW ,ground zero (yes DR. mark yate AND MR fisher)rifles only. i wouls like to go back to rifles only again because i drop out od middle of course due to my god awful mistake (accidental discharge and i was in full of shame so i did iwould say that was bigest mistake i ever done) but nwo i am ok with it and i would like to go back also he offer me a free course but i gonna pay anyway. i know black water would not take canadian (non LE AND MILITARY).

My background is medical. they have a couple tactical medic courses. Tactical reponse has a high risk civilian contractor course (medical). some of these courses require you take a prerequite course ie fighting rifle before you can take their high risk civilian contractor course. Tactical response has no issues with canadians going down to tenesse for their course. Infact, they taught a course in BC once. If you are LE you should have no problems taking courses. I've inquired at gunsite and tactical response within the last month because I'm planning to take a few courses in September and I too and looking at maybe applying for and ATF form as well.
