i need help with shotgun mag capacity

hello,i have a Remington 1100 semi-auto that hold 4 shots in the mag tube,i know I can have 5 shots in the mag tube legaly,here is my problem,i have a 2 shot mag extention that I don't use and would like to use it on my 1100,it will make the gun illegal,6 in the tube ,how can I block the mag extention permantly so it will only had one shot and be legal,would a rivet like they use on rifles mag be consider legal,or do I need to epoxy the thing,thank you for your time guys.
ps it a 2 3/3 reciver only

A peice of dowel epoxied into the extention will work. Make sure it only holds 5 after you modify it though

Does the existing tube hold "just 4" or "almost but not quite 5"?

I would be inclined to fit a tube that would stop the follower, but not affect the magazine spring.
Or just make a +1 extension.
