I need help with Squires Bingham 16

Thank you nost - I was looking for that too.

Also not to highjack the thread - how do you disassemble the bolt on these?

You have to unscrew the end-cap, take out the springs, and when the firing pin assembly is at the rear of the bolt, you can pull the handle out. I find getting it back in to be a PITA. Oh, and also not loosing the spring and brearing out of the handle.

Can you tell me how to get the cocking knob off.I am looking at the schematic and it appears possibly the firing pin is broken.I need to slide the bolt out I assume.

Grab the cocking handle and jiggle it while lightly tugging on it. It should come out.

My firing pin broke too, its a poor design being L shaped with the hammer hitting the short arm.

HTH,

Craig

If it is too much hassle or to $$ to fix. It might be time to move on to something new. That is what I had to do with mine, I sold the parts to a smith.(no money there eather) good luck AJ

Should't be much to fix.I am going to try to groove and weld and if that doesn't last I will make a new one.I like the looks of it too much to get rid of.

Rather than start a new thread.....:p.....the action/springs on the Squires-Bingham/"Squibman" rifles are very stiff.....:(......b/c my "Squibman" is not as pretty/well-finished as the ones all over the E&E , and b/c I picked it up cheap (no functioning mag was included :yingyang:), I did the "unthinkable"/lazy move of hosing the whole thing down with WD-40............if only b/c the thing wasn't even cycling with hyper-velocity .22's.......:bangHead:.....gotta test-fire still...:ninja:

Update: The "not-recommended approach" worked :p, albeit (only tested) with the smoothest magazine I had ;) and the 525 Fed hollowpoint ammo (which - of most of the "high-velocity" ammunition I've seen - actually has some relatively significant velocity to it).......:D

I have the same gun but in the model 16 configuration,my fire to is also
broken. What do these L shaped firing pins go for, should I buy a few of
them?

IMHO, Drewz is most probably the "go-to-guy" when it comes to tearing these suckers down :p (or, he'll better know who is!)......:yingyang:
