ok well i was out testing my new stoeger 410 choach gun. after 20 rounds or so i was starting to get lite primer strikes! this gun was brand new just out of the box. it has the matte nickle finish. looked at the primers and nothing is wrong it looks as if the shells are being pushed in a little to far?? i was shooting winchester super X ammo. can anyone help me? were is the stoeger warrenty place? to send it in? or is it a quick fix? the round on the left is with the lite primer strike. and both barrels are doing this.

With both barrels doing it I would think machining debris and grease in the action. Was it cold when you were shooting it? Did it develop the problem or start right off the bat? I would remove the stock and give it a good flushing with carb cleaner then lightly oil where it would need a lttle. I believe these guns have coil springs driving the hammers that should not make it a weak strike issue beyond cleaning. Remember to flush out the firing pin area also. Keep us posted.

I am reasonably convinced you have alot of debris and grease/oil from manufacturing in the action. The cold would have tightened it up when you brought it outside. A good cleaning should solve your problem. Remember to use a good moly grease on the hinge pin this will make the gun last a long, long time.

You need to remove the fore end to break down the gun. The butt stock should have a through bolt under the butt plate/pad. A long shank slot type screw driver is the usual tool needed. Sometimes the right size socket with extension and ratchet will remove the stock. Remember to unscrew the wood screw in the trigger guard before removing the stock ( if there is one). The hinge pin is the pin that traverses through the forward frame that the barrels hinge on hence the name hinge pin. It will all become obvious when you remove the fore end and the barrels.
