I am looking for a muzzle brake for my 11.5 inch barreled AR. Every manufacturer claims that their brake is amazing. I tend to trust the opinion of actual shooters over advertising hype though. So what are your thoughts? My intended use is CQB matches and that type of shooting. Thanks in advance for your help.

Battlecomps are nice, I find the Noveske KX-3's are great if you're shooting with someone else in close proximity.

The Noveske KX-3 that Rhutch speaks of is excellent , a great cheap copy of that is the Dlask XB-1 - same as the Noveske KX-3. The PWS Diablo is also a fantastic choice ( PLUG ;) )
these work to put the concussion forward instead of making ears bleed beside you , also creates a little back pressure and lots of noise reduction for the short barrel AR's

These 3 are IMO the best because of the noise redirection , just the PWS also does a better job of flash suppression

The Alberta Tactical Rifle Supply AT15 LFE and AT15 "Eliminator" produced some very nice results when I got to play with them on 7.5" and 11.5" barrels.

The LFE is more of a traditional flash hider slim profile and lighter weight than the Eliminator, where as the Eliminator is the "can" type design but performs wonderfully and adds a bit more weight if you're looking to counter balance muzzle climb.

Here's their comparison video;

You never specified what you need the brake to be best at.
If it is muzzle climb you are trying to eliminate the absolute best is the Surefire but it comes with a price which is concussion to those around you.
If you want something that is concussion friendly to your neighbours then the Noveske KX-3 or the upcoming KX-5 will serve you well.

I am in the process of completing a build and cannot decide between those 2 either.

Love the kx-3 for all the reasons stated above!!

Also have the XB-1 on my vz58 compact. Works as good as kx-3. Also comes in AR thread pattern

KX-3 or clone for the win.
I've used just about all of the other ones mentioned so far, but have gone back to the KX-3.
Reason 1....you won't deafen...or piss off...shooters abreast of you.
Reason 2....try any of the other types in urban prone or inverted and you'll be a convert!
Reason 3....refer to Reason 1 and 2

Thanks to all who generously gave advice so far. In answer to a question I would like the brake to reduce muzzle climb. All other things being equal which brake reduces muzzle climb the most?. I would be willing to give up some performance in order to not blast the crap out of my fellow gunnuts. Impossible to have everything I know but I want to try.
