Hello,

I am new to reloading and would really appreciate it if some one could help me figure out a recipe I could use with the components I currently have. I've checked my reloading manual and while it does have several loads for 9mm using 700-x powder, they're not in conjunction with 115gr fmj rn bullets.

This is what I have, IMR 700-x powder, hornady 9mm 115gr fmj rn bullets, Winchester brass and primers. They would be used exclusively in a CZ 75b sp-01 for target practice.

Thanks for looking

Hey New Camper, that was one of the first sites I came across but they only have data for 115gr LRN and SPR GDHP. Is the data from either of those relevant to 115gr FMJ RN? thanks for the quick response.

perfectly acceptable to use the same bullet weight +/- 5-10 grs (eg a 120gr, or 124gr bullet and use 115gr data) to work out a load, just start low and work your way up. if possible use a chronograph to keep track of your pressures but it's not mandatory to use one.

but before you start loading you should find your over all length (OAL) with your CZ 75b. i suspect it will be under 1.100" as they have a tighter chamber/throat typically. start by sizing a case and flaring the case to accept a bullet. then seating a bullet to 1.150 and remove the flare from the case, but don't crimp it so it can still move a bit. once you have that see if it will freely drop in and out of your CZ 75b. keep seating it deeper until it freely drops in and out of your chamber and now you have your guns OAL. from there i would start with 3.3gr of 700x based from hodgdon's site with a 115gr LRN.

also keep in mind 700x tends to meter like crap, so keep a close eye on your charges.

Okay Thanks allot this is just what I needed. Still waiting on my calipers and scale should be here this week and ill get to work determining my OAL! Ya I've heard it dose not meter well but ill be scaling each charge individually anyway. 700x wasn't my first choice for powder but it was all they had at my LGS.
