I need someone to mod my SKS for the Hi-Cal magwell adapter in EDM area.

I have done a few now on my own .It is not a hard project with the right tools and be able to test for function as you proceed .The worst part is fitting to the stock as I don't like that piece of the puzzle .
I would recommend that you may wish to send the project to Hi Cal if you are going to pay to have it done have it done right
Cheers Peter

I contacted them and they told me that it would cost more than the gun was worth and recommended that I just buy one from them with it already installed. Ive already dumped a few (too many) bucks into the one I have and dont want to go through all of that rigmarole all over again. I dont have the tools, the time, or the skills to do it on my own though.

Man, it's really not that hard. You do need at least a rotary tool, good carbide burr attachment and ALOT of patience and time. Because every rifle is different you've got to do some custom work. My bolt hold open was the bane of my existence causing all kinds of problems, worked it out though and really got a good understanding of what causes malfunctions in semi autos, was a good learning experience.

I work 10 days on 4 days off with no vacation. I've been on this schedule for almost 2 years and it doesnt look like it will let up any time soon. I would rather just pay someone to do it than take up half of my days off turning my gun into scrap metal.

As I said before, I dont have the tools, the time, or the skill to do this on my own.

Sell the adapter. If you really want multiple mags, go with the Tapco polymer duckbill 5/30 jobs. Better yet, get a big bunch of Russian stripper clips with 5 rounds on each along with the original fixed mag.
I successfully installed and tuned an adapter and massaged a couple of mags into flawless operation, but it took me a long time and a lot of fiddling to finally get it right.

With everyone telling me how easy it is to install, you'd think there would be a plethora of people willing to make a quick few bucks.

Nobody without a license wants to modify a gun of someone else's and get nailed for liability if something happens, that is what it comes down to.

I will never reload for anyone else but I will sit with them as they reload their own, simple as that, my butt is not on the line.

Never thought about it like that.... Might just mail it to Hical and pay the $250 for them to do it.

If you already have mags, send those to highcal too, due to variations they might not fit right when u get it back if Hical don't have em to use for your install. Highcal did mine. Works like a charm.

Let me see if I can remember how to post one.

*edit* Cant access photobucket on my work computer. will be a few days before I can post again. Wish is was easier to post pictures on this site....

There are a few posted on Ironsight Kustoms Facebook page. He did great work.
