Being that UFA (United Farmers of Alberta) has just purchased Wholesale Sports, and Russel's and also being that I am a long time member of UFA, that now makes me part owner. First order of business if I have a say in the matter  will be to designate someone to dispense ammo and other goodies without having to take a number. :D Oh...I'm also going to make the clerks wear orange smocks ;) I called Russel's and asked them if I could purchase fencing pliers....buddy didn't see the humour, oh well :p

I'm thinking that CGN'rs need 50% off. And just for you, 20% off all Stevens 200 and I'm importing Boyds and Richards Microfit stocks. I'm also going to stock bedliner and Krylon spiderweb paints. I'm also going to set-up a BS lounge, that way the salesmen are not disturbed and perhaps we can turn the BS sessions into a sale...now that's thinking. :dancingbanana:

And being a part owner too, I agree with you. Except for the discount part for CGNer's........I plan on retiring soon....lol

Maybe newbies have to pay extra until they reach 25,000 posts.????

Hey UFA owners I need a better orange plastic sleeve that you gave me for my fuel card last year. Its pretty cheap. Falling apart. Also the coffee is overpriced. I can see the future now. Plastic stock Remingtons with Barska scopes and military ammo for twice the price. No other selection. Profits should be exceptional.

Good one:D:D:D

The people and service at every UFA I have been to in Alberta has been exceptional. I drive truck for a living and get around. The new stores are great. If they bring in their management things should improve dramatically at WSS (even though I have yet to have any kind of problem).
Waiting for a number is normal because the guy in front of you has no idea what he wants. No Inventory # for them to get, or wants to window shop
without any cash. Have cash ready to purchase, no problem getting service.
Get yourself organized before you go things go. Inventory#'s help them alot.
At UFA, just try to say "I 'd like to see a tube of grease" or bale of twine. They will look at you as if you have a problem if you don't know the brand name.

WSS is bad every where I guess... I thought maybe it was just Edmonton. I have been known to drive the three hours to Russels instead of the 1.5 hrs to WSS Edmonton...

keep hiring the little cuties they have working in the cagary store. I don;t care if they know next to nothing about the products they're selling. :D

Hey git,

Can you do something about the reloading stuff/supplies being under lock and key or 'out back' @ Wholesale?:) That drives me nuts about that place, waiting in line for a shell holder or some thing small like that.......Think I'll hold off going in that place again till you guys get it turned around.:D

Hey all you UFA owners!

If you are looking for a new company uniform, instead of an orange smock, might I suggest something along the lines of;

Whadda ya think?

You da man Joe...I'll pass that on. Ok, here's another idea. You know how Home Depot has these in store "how to demos". Good for business as they end up purchasing products right there and then. Well, how's about we have such demos in store also. Reloading for dummies, stock bedding 101, rifle stock painting for beginners, and heres a good one....how to properly mount a scope :D

I'll ask that we don't turn this into yet another WSS slagging thread, let's just have some fun with it. :)

LOL as another proud owner, I would like to see next day catalog orders of hunting and shooting supplies delivered to UFA stores. Then I may not ever have to go to the damn cities ever again! Whoo Hoo!!

In all reality I don't see much changing in the next couple years. UFA will just pay the current managment to keep the status quo. How do you think they got so big and wealthy?? From our pocket books.....if only it were PEAVY MART!
