Mine was much easier than I thought. I suggest having a big work bench with lots of space though!

The weirdest part is the trigger assembly. Most of the online guides don't do a great job. You have to push what looks like a solid ring towards the end of the barrel to release it. I spent a while trying to find some imaginary push-button to pop downwards :p

Yes, the trigger removal setup is quite complicated even though I looked at Joce's pictorial while removing it. I also didn't realize that the cover had to be at the
9 o'clock position rather than all the way up to the 12 o'clock position. And then when I finally did get it right so that the trigger released, I was not able to
get it to go back together until after a lot of filing to the catch. I think it took me a couple of hours to learn all the secrets of the trigger removal.

A youtube vid i watched showed using a dummy round to push in the hole and hit the latch to release, it was pretty easy....i think the crossbolt is going to be my issue, seems really on there. I tried making a tool, i tried a few wrenches, nothing grabs it very well...i did get the stock tool from corwin, still haven't given it a shot yet, 1 more week till the kid goes back to school and Dad gets more free time during the day :p But these are great rifles and totally excite me when i get a chance to take her out.

Guess i can see two sides of the "another one gone". These are not extremely rare so, one more "gone". At the same time, they are a cheap to buy battle rifle, and if someone wants to go the extra effort to refinish it...it is his rifle. Most of these are not museum pieces. I am sure that a generation ago, no one thought that finding a original, Ross would be hard either.
