I said it would never happen... I bought a Glock...

Looks is about the last thing I care about in a handgun. The thing spends 99% of its life in a holster anyway...

I treat my guns as a collection rather then shooting tools, so looks and the condition are very important to me. I would never buy a firearm just cause its the cheapest one I can get, like the 1911 Norincos. Good shooters but they are rough and lack true workmanship. I will eventually get a glock cause its such a famous ground breaking gun and a pistol of this magnitude and importance should definitely be a part of everyone’s collection. Just my 2 cents.;)

the first time i fired a glock, it felt like a toy to me. light and wimpy.

but as i see it, i've been playing with toy guns since my earliest memory, why change that now?

I don't LOVE my G17. I like it and it is an excellent workaday pistol. I love my 1911 and P7 but they can both be finicky at times. The Glock is basic but it works with everything so hard to find fault there. I don't want to be buried with my G17 but in a SHTF situation it would be the first thing I'd grab.

To change the subject slightly, any idea where I could pick up a couple of Glock mag loaders? My pistol came with one which I seem to have promptly lost and I really need one and probably a spare.

PM me, I will send you a glock mag loader thingy, free.

They are boringly reliable with many options available when/if you decide to modify.

Everyone seems to miss the importance of length of trigger pull. I had an M&P 40 and the large backstrap just made it fatter to hold. No backtrap on G21 and mid backstrap on G17 is perfect for me. If the LOP is too short and the second section of your finger engages the trigger, you will not shoot accurately.

I've been humming and hawing over a Glock for a while. My favorite pistols have always been: 1911/Gov't Models, "classic" S&W revolvers, and SAA revolvers/clones. Never really had an interest in Glocks, but figure I should give em credit where its due. My problem is pony'ing up the money to buy one (when that money could go towards something I truly love). I am only interested in a 21 if I do get one, and nobody seems to be giving them away haha. Kind of a lot of cash to fork over on something I might not like. At least for me its a lot of money. I have to think long and hard before making a firearm purchase, have to make every penny count. Also, I don't know anyone who has one I can try out before buying, so its jumping right in the pool for me. No toe-dipping.

After shooting my gen3.5 G17 for the last 2yrs I have to say I'm happy with it. Funtioned flawlessly except for when my (then)13yr old son caused a stove pipe(limp wristing first time shooting it).
I've been so impressed with it's function and form that I now have a gen4 G21 waiting to be blessed by the CFO. I'm gonna have some fun with this one:cool:

How do the Glocks handle the 10mm? i was against glocks then i started looking into 10mm and the Glock threads have peaked my interest!!!

Lots of threads everywhere about Glocks and 10mm... basically the polymer frame is well suited for the repeated abuse that hot-10mm ammo dishes out.

I want a Gen.4 for the 'improved' dual-recoil spring :D

I too am guilty. Finally broke and purchased a g17. I just don't like the look of them. Mind you I bought one armacoated in desert camo that was on the EE...Nicest looking glock i've ever seen!

I thought the EXACT same thing. "I will never own a tupperware glock". However, yesterday I shot a 9mm G17 and I can firmly say, it is the next thing I want. It shot beautifully and was deadly accurate. Foot in mouth. However, anything above 9mm in glock, 40/45 I do not enjoy shooting.

I never liked Glocks ever since they first came out. They now have a proven track record and my next gun is going to be a Glock Gen4 Model 22
